So now comes the State of Washington, determined to ban "assault weapons". The Seattle Times (2/17/2013): "Misstep in Gun Bill Could Defeat the Effort"
You would think that the "long awaited assault weapon ban" bill to be introduced in Washington State legislature would have been carefully written before becoming public. But apparently everyone thought somebody else was paying closer attention, because the main sponsors of the bill had not fully read the document. As a result, they dropped some cards and everyone saw what was in their hand.
I'm talking about the gun bill that required owners of assault weapons to lock them up, which would be verified on an annual basis by a required law enforcement inspection of your house.
This even surprised a few liberals:
'“They always say, we’ll never go house to house to take your guns away. But then you see this, and you have to wonder.”
That’s no gun-rights absolutist talking, but Lance Palmer, a Seattle trial lawyer and self-described liberal who brought the troubling Senate Bill 5737 to my attention. It’s the long-awaited assault-weapons ban, introduced last week by three Seattle Democrats.'Of course, nobody took responsibility. The bills sponsors took the less nasty way out by claiming they had not read the bill closely enough, and ultimately some unknown hack, probably a government intern, got thrown under the bus. Blah, blah, blah. They lie like a wet rug.
Tip for conservative sleuths:
One of the ways you can identify a liberal's true agenda is by watching them and listening to them when they're not paying attention, or they think nobody else is paying attention. The offhand comments and acts committed when nobody is supposed to be listening ("I'll have more freedom after the election") or watching (Russian ships and Turkish aircraft cover the visual background at the DNC).
