I figure if they go after someone like George Zimmerman, they should probably come after me too!

Who Will Protect Our Children?

h/t PatriotUSA:
In 106 words, the Arizona Daily “Red” Star quietly announced July 1 that TUSD had accepted a donation of $465,000 from Qatar Foundation International, to grow Arabic language programs in International Baccalaureate programs at 2 schools in the district.  In a stellar example of its extreme left-wing bias, the “Red” Star conveniently failed to note the fact that the Qatar Foundation International, the American chapter of the Qatar Foundation, has close ties with the Muslim Brotherhood, the terrorist organization behind Hamas.  That the Star was successful in hiding this explosive bit of information is shown by the number of comments on the article: zero.

Meanwhile, others are paying attention.  According to the Arizona Daily Independent, “The Qatar Foundation International, which awards the Curriculum Grants, is an Arabic/Islamist group that seeks to promote Sharia culture and has undeniable ties to two terrorist organizations whose mission is to destroy America, Western ideology and anyone who does not agree with their extremisms,” Pat Sexton, president of Arizona Latino Republican Association, said after last year’s award acceptance [of a $55,000 grant].”
The Qatar Foundation was founded by Qatar’s ruling emir, Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, who is also an influential architect of Middle East media mammoth Al Jazeera.  The Foundation says that TUSD was chosen to receive the grant because of its “active cultural and education community involvement.”  Such as, the Mexican American Studies program promoted by La Raza and shut down by the State of Arizona because it advocated the overthrow of the United States and fomented racial hate?
“The money, from the group closely associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, is intended to implement ‘innovative curricula and teaching materials to be used in any Arabic language classroom.’”
Hmmm.  I wonder what kind of innovative curricula.
The Independent continues, “The Qatar Foundation has also named several institutions after a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Yusuf al-Qaradawi. Al-Qaradawi has proclaimed himself “Mufti of martyrdom operations.” … While Al-Qaradawi’s claims to promote moderation, “he has openly permitted the killing of American troops in Iraq and praised the “heroic deeds” from “Hamas, Jihad, Al-Aqsa Brigades, and others,” according to the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT).
I get the fact that money is hard to come by, but the TUSD Board is either stupid and ignorant beyond belief, or is willfully opening the door of the henhouse to the fox.  Given that the State of Arizona had to file suit to shut down the blatantly seditious MAS program, it’s easy to believe that the Board is acting to deliberately and quietly entice young Tucsonans with the taste of "world citizenship", like the hand of a shadowy figure offering candy to a child from the open door of a windowless black van.

Who will protect our children?  Clearly not TUSD, and clearly not the Arizona Daily "Red" Star...

Poverty With A View

There's a conservative bumper sticker that says, "Annoy a Liberal: Work Hard, Prosper, Succeed".  Ironically, it was soon followed by the appearance of a liberal bumper sticker that went something like, "Annoy a Conservative: Be Compassionate, [...] , Uphold the Constitution"!  I say ironically because under the Obama Administration, the Constitution has been under relentless attack, with the apparent goal of shredding it as the foundation of our rule of law.

The exhortation to be compassionate is a sick joke, though perhaps less obvious than the thought of liberals upholding the Constitution.  I can think of few things as cold and dispassionate as blocking a family's means of feeding and clothing itself.  Especially when the reason for keeping people in poverty is because the desert is so pretty!

Poverty with a view. (h/t PatriotUSA)

Of course, I'm referring to the Rosemont Mine.  Arizona State University Report 2009 states that Rosemont Copper will stimulate a total of $19 billion in new economic output to the region over the life of the mine, including an average of 2,900 jobs annually.

Raul "Boycott Arizona" Grijalva, who actively fights to keep the poor from prospering and becoming self-sufficient, is of course, solidly against Rosemont since it would be a source of so much prosperity.  In fact, rather than have all that money go to local families he is pushing (again) for huge fees that mining companies would have to pay to the federal government, fees large enough to make them think twice about doing business here.

He claims to worry about out of towners making money without pointing out how much money would stay here (see Fast Facts).  His other tactic is environmentalism.  He wanted to make up to 100 miles from the Mexican border a preserve that would have banned the Border Patrol from the area.  Hmmm, I wonder what his real motive might have been there...

He's not the only one to use environmentalism as a tactic to keep the poor from prospering.  Recently a salvo was fired that was thinly disguised as "critical habitat*" news in the Arizona Daily "Red" Star:

Start with an interesting photo of a jaguar... oh, did I mention is was near the Rosemont Mine?

Throw in a hint of controversy to keep peoples' attention...
Hunter's 'great' jaguar photo was altered (Arizona Daily "Red" Star 6/29/2013)

Then bring in a big hammer to give it a national spotlight, and circulate it at the UA...

Grijalva and friends speak as if their gallant fight is against the bad, evil mine.  However, the mine is only a means to an end - a better life for Tucson and southern Arizona.  The truth is that Grijalva and friends are fighting to keep... poverty with a view - for Tucson and southern Arizona.

Vote Gabriela Saucedo Mercer for Congress 2014!

[In fairness to the Star, they have recently run the following headlines:
